Anastasia Beverly Hills foundation stick VS. Makeup forever HD foundation stick.
Foundation sticks are making their way to being one of the more popular forms of foundation. I am a liquid foundation lover, and I don’t think I will ever fully switch over to any other kind of foundation, but I will say that stick foundation is a great way to go for a myriad of reasons. One being that it is extremely buildable. Whether you are looking for a quick light coverage look, or looking for a flawless full coverage base you can do either with the right foundation stick. I find that foundation sticks are AMAZING for highlighting and contouring purposes. Depending on your makeup regimen you may love using these babies. Queen Amrezy, is known for using her ABH foundation sticks on top of her liquid foundation for a brilliant highlight and contour. They also feel like they are just more bang for your buck. Whether they really are or not I do not know, but they are slightly cheaper than a bottle of higher end liquid foundations, and they seem like they last a hell of a lot longer. Does anyone else feel this way? Or is it just me?
Two super popular stick foundations flying off of the shelves right now are Anastasia Beverly Hills foundation sticks, and Makeup Forever’s HD foundation sticks. Both are strong sellers which obviously come from trusted names in makeup. A lot of YouTuber’s I have come across are using them and love them, though we all know that doesn’t always mean much. I will say, if anyone is a fan of Daisy Marquez she seems to be obsessed with the Makeup Forever HD stick and uses it consistently in a lot of her looks.
Let’s look at what both of these foundation sticks have to offer…
Anastasia Beverly Hills Foundation Stick
If you want a foundation stick with a lot of pigment, which is creamy and buildable, then this foundation stick may be ideal. It has a matte finish, so it’s best for those who prefer a smooth, no-shine look. For my oily skinned friends, this is probably our best bet! When it comes to skin type, this foundation stick may not be the best choice for drier skin, especially in these winter months. It’s great for all over the face, and again wonderful for contouring and highlighting if that is something you incorporate into your makeup routine. A HUGE bonus for many makeup lovers out there, this product is 100% vegan! I am noticing more and more that cruelty free, and vegan products are becoming extremely popular on the market. This foundation comes in thirty shades, which is remarkable, this huge range caters to women with extremely fair skin, and also women with very dark skin, which are two groups that are often left out in the world of foundation. I think ABH did well with their shade range for this product, it is certainly larger than many other brands, but I would like to see a few more tones for darker skin. While women with dark skin are represented with something like 7 shades, I think a few more could be thrown in the mix.
Now, let’s take a look at the competition. The Makeup Forever HD Foundation Stick is also well worth a closer look…
Makeup Forever HD Foundation Stick
The Makeup Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation Stick is a product that makeup lovers adore! This foundation stick features a finish which is very lightweight, but covers most imperfections perfectly, so it does offer a lot of advantages. However, you should be aware that this product is tested on animals, so if this is a deal breaker for you, read no more. You will want to stick with the ABH stick or something else all together.
This foundation was made in order to meet the needs of makeup artists who work in the film and television industries. It’s designed to make complexions perfect, even when they are being filmed in high-definition, via 4k lenses which capture every single detail. If you want a movie star or tv star look, you’ll find that this foundation really delivers. Its coverage is
medium and looks just like actual skin. It works for all skin types, including dry, and it has great staying power. This foundation stick is available in only 15 shades, plus white. That is a major down side to this product. Of the 15 shades that are available the darkest shade doesn’t look like it would be dark enough for most darker skinned women… This eliminates many women from using this product what so ever.
Which is Best for You?
If you have dry skin, you’re better off with the Makeup Forever foundation stick, though they may not have your color. If your skin is combination or oily, you may choose either. Those who want cruelty-free cosmetics should avoid Makeup Forever and stick with the ABH Foundation Stick, as it is never tested on animals. Both sticks are easy to find online and both last for a long time. You should not need to use much of either in order to access premium coverage. As well, you’ll find that both products are fairly affordable, although they definitely fall into the category of designer makeup. Makeup Forever charges a lot more for its foundation stick than ABH does. If you want to save money, you may find that the Makeup Forever foundation stick is a little too expensive for your bank account, as it is for mine. Shop around online, as prices may vary from retailer to retailer. In general, you will find that the ABH stick costs around $25 and that the Makeup Forever stick costs around $45… You do the math. Unless your bougie and insist on having the product from the brand that has advertised itself as the brand for television professionals, the ABH stick is perfectly fine.
